We had a really nice, laid back Christmas this year. Brent had to work on Christmas day so we were unable to go to Dallas. We went to the Christmas Eve service at our church. On Christmas day, we got up and ate breakfast (we can do that still since Ava is not old enough to wake us up at 5am to open presents), then opened presents. For lunch, we went over to my aunt Joy and uncle Tomm's house. It was really great to get to see family on Christmas day. My cousin Heidi and her family were in town from Chicago which was a real treat. Brent went to work at 2pm, but Ava and I got to meet up with him in the evening for dinner. We missed being with our family, but enjoyed starting our own new traditions.

Our First Christmas Tree
Two Months
Ava was two months on December 11th. She is doing fantastic!! She started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks which makes mommy very happy. She will go 7 to 8 hours a night. She is smiling, laughing and making more and more noises and sounds. Her neck is getting so strong. She holds her head up well when she is on her tummy and when sitting on our laps. At her two month appointment she weighted 10lb and 1.5oz and 22.5 inches long. She is a long, skinny things. I am super excited because she finally fits in all her cute 0 to 3 month clothes! We have been blessed with a very happy and easy baby. Love her!!!

Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving my sister Rachel came in town. It was great having her, especially since i got the stomach flu and she had to step in and take care of Ava for the day. She even had Ava sleep in her room so that I could get a good night sleep. Thanks Rachel!! Luckily, I was feeling better by Thanksgiving. We had our Thanksgiving dinner at our friend Meghan and Chris' house. It was delicious! Of course we took a ton of picture while aunt Rachel was in town. Here are a few...

One Month!!
On Thursday Ava will be one month old....I can't believe it. She is precious and such a good baby. She continues to be a great sleeper which I am so thankful for. We are in a pretty good routine and all three of us are adjusting to this new life. The weather has been beautiful and warm so Ava and I take lots of walk. We got our first snow of the season today and winter is on the way. Our walks may have to move to the mall. Here are a few pictures from the last month.
One of my favorite pictures of her. One of our friend's mom made this little hat. I love it!
Daddy is the perfect place to fall asleep.
This is Ava in her sling. She loves to snuggle in and falls right to sleep. Great for church.
First Halloween
She is getting so much more alert. When she is awake she is wide-eyed and looking all around.

First Week
Ava is almost one week old and has been so sweet and precious. She is an amazing sleeper, already going 4 to 5 hour stretches at night. Hopefully she will keep that up for a while. My mom has been in town this week which has been such a blessing as we transition into parenting. Brent and I are loving parenthood and are totally captivated by our precious baby girl.

We love getting to see her big eyes. They are closed most the time right now.

Imogene Pass Race
Last Saturday, September 11th, Brent ran a 17 mile trail race called the Imogene Pass Race. The Imogene Pass goes from Ouray to Telluride, quite possibly two of the most beautiful mountain towns in Colorado. The day of race was amazing weather. Brent did so well in the race and it was nice weekend get-away!
Ouray
Brent and his friend Josh at the start of the race. It was about 34 degrees in town and about 24 degrees at the summit.
And they are off....The first 10 miles was about a 5000 foot climb. Pretty impressive.
Brent finished faster then i expected so i didn't have my camera ready. He is the one in white and black in the center of the picture. So proud of him!!!
Brent and I in Telluride after the race.
Beautiful Telluride!
