Aspen Trip

We made our annual trip to Aspen this year for the Aspen Golden Leaf Half Marathon. This was our fourth year to go. My parents came with us this year which was so fun. My dad had not met Lucy yet, so we thought it would be a good chance for him to see her and for my parents to get some good mountain time in. As I said, this was our fourth year to come up for the race and I think it was the most beautiful it has ever been. The aspens were amazing and the weather could not have been more perfect.

Brent did great in the race!

Coming across the finish line. So proud of him!

Before the race, Ava was running down the hill and completely face planted. Then, on our way to the car after the race, she tripped and landed face first on the side walk. She was fine, just a little scratched up.
If you look closely, you can see her face in the ground and her legs in the air.

After the race, we went to see the beautiful Maroon Bells. There was fire in Wyoming making it  a little hazy so we did not get the clearest pictures of the mountains, but I think you will still be able to get the idea.

Gramps and Ava. Ava calls my dad "Pica." We don't know why, but it is pretty cute.

On Sunday, we went for a quick little hike before we had to check out.
View up the hill from our condo.

As we were pulling out of our condo, we saw this little black bear. I was beyond excited! It was my first bear sighting in Colorado.

The ride home was amazingly beautiful, and long! Especially since we got stuck in traffic jam on the way home.

We stopped to get a picture, but it was super cold and windy. We pretty much ran to the top and ran back to the car.
It is never a good sign when people start getting out of their cars!

It was an awesome trip made even better by getting to share it with Grammy and Gramps!

Two Months

I truly believe that Lucy has to be one of the easiest babies ever. She is just so laid back and sweet. She has started to give a little smile every once in a while. Lucy is still quiet, but very alert. She has a precious little spirit about her.

At 7 weeks, she did her first long stretch through the night. She had her last feeding at 10pm and slept till 7am!! Before that, she was typically waking up once a night, between 4 or 5am. She would then go back to sleep for another 3 hours or so. I sure do not miss that middle of the night feeding. Now we will begin moving that last feeding of the night earlier.

During the day, Lucy is still eating about every 3 hours, although some days it is still every 2 and half hours. After she eats, Lucy is usually awake for about 45 minutes to an hour, and then back asleep for an hour and half or so.

At her doctors appointment, she weighted in at 9 pounds 8 oz, which is the 13th percentile. Her length was 22.25 inches, which is the 47th percentile. For her weight, she had gone down from 34th percent to 13th percent, but the doctor was not concerned. She said she is probably just little and her weight is leveling out.

Sweet sleeping baby.
She loves her swing.
Her neck is getting so strong!

Big Girl Bed

About a month before Lucy was born, we moved Ava into a twin bed. Overall she has done great, but we have had a few late nights trying to get her to stay in bed. The other night we woke up at 4am to find her trying on shoes!

I waited a little while to get some bedding, just to be sure she was going to be to handle a big bed. Also, it took me forever to decide how I wanted her room to look. But we finally got it all and I love it! So does Ava. She is so proud and if you come visit, she will take you to her room to show you her bed. Next step...decorating the room! Not my strong point so wish me luck!

One of the first nights. I eventually had to move her books (on the shelf next her) out of her reach. She would stay up till for hours "reading". I love that she loves reading books, just not at 10pm!

First night with her new sheets!
