Updates!

Goodness...I got a little behind here. I also just called it quits. But, since I don't really do the whole scrap book thing, i decided this is the best way for me to keep record of our family happens. So, here is about five months of post. Hopefully, i can do a better job of keeping up now that i am caught up.

8 Months

I feel like my baby got big this month! She is rolling everywhere, saying "dada" "lala" "baba". She sits completely unsupported. She is trying to get on all fours, so we may have a crawler soon. The time change was good to us this time, and Lucy is now sleeping almost 13 hours night. She goes down at 7ish and is waking up between 7:30 and 8am. Love it! She is still taking two good naps, although many days she ends up missing or barely getting a morning nap....the life of the second kid. Lucy is still eating solids three times a day and takes milk four times a day. She has started to eat a few little finger foods like crackers, banana, and soft veggies. What a delight this little girl is. She is happy, snuggly, and loves to laugh. Especially at her silly sister.

Bath time is my favorite time of day. These two will play in the tub for about thirty minutes. Best way to get through those last hours of the day.

Big sitting girl

Loves to roll and explore.
She moves to her big girl car seat...great for sleeping.
She loves to watch Abby.
Reading together.
Playing the back yard on a lovely spring day.

Love these sisters!!

7 Months

This month was definitely not our easiest. Lucy went through a two week period where she did sleep well at night. She would sleep, then wake up around 1am for an hour or two, fall back asleep, and then wake up again around 4am for another hour or two. Plus, she had two colds, Ava had a cold, Brent and I got a cold, and just to top it off, the stomach flu visited for about a week. Lucy did cut two teeth, which may have been culprits for our sleepless nights. She also mastered rolling over and is almost sitting up completely by herself. When she sleeps, Lucy will sleep about twelve hours an night. She is taking two solid naps a day. She also made the transition to no swaddle. About an hour to an hour and half in the morning and another hour and half to two hours in the afternoon. Lucy is eating solid foods three times a day and takes milk four times a day. She also had her first trip to the zoo. Two trips actually, one to the Denver Zoo and one to the Cheyenne Zoo with DD. Despite all the sickness and lack of sleep, she is still the happiest little thing!

6 months

6 months feels like a huge milestone! Lucy is 14 pounds 6.7 oz and 26.34 inches. Lucy is up to a nice 12 hours at night. In bed at 7pm and up at 7am. She takes a good morning and afternoon nap, but still needs a little cat nap late afternoon/early evening. She is going 4 to 4.5 hours between feedings. Lucy has added several foods this month including squash, carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, and apple sauce. She is a great little eater. Lucy has mastered the roll from tummy to back. She is close to doing back to tummy, but can't quite get herself all the way over.Lucy also made her first trip to Texas and got to meet all her cousins. She also got her first cold. Lucy is still a happy, laid back baby who loves to smile and loves to be talked to.
Lucy finally fits in the bath chair which I LOVE. Makes bath time so much easier. Ava is  so helpful.
Saturday morning run.

This was her little sick face...not too bad.

Her little "tent" for sleeping on the way to Texas.

Already learning to defend herself from big sis.

They love each other.

Christmas!!

We had a nice, quiet little Christmas this year. Christmas Eve we went to the Christmas Eve service at church and then came home and had pizza.

Here are a few attempts at pictures for church.....

Ava wanted to sleep here Christmas Eve.

Christmas Morning!! Ava still does not fully understand what Christmas is all about, but she loved opening presents! We had a big breakfast that morning. Brent had to work in the afternoon/evening, but we had a great Christmas morning.
Some friends gave us this tent for Ava. We saved it for Christmas. She loved  it! Played in it all day.

Ava helped Lucy open her presents.

Lucy and Daddy discussing their presents.

Merry Christmas. We are so grateful for a day to celebrate our Savior!

Cutting down our Christmas Tree

This year, we decided to go cut down our own Christmas tree. We had been hoping to go into the mountains to get one from the national forest, but you have to have a permit and they were sold out. So, instead, we went to a tree farm in Greeley with our good friends, the Drakes. We had a great time. Turns out that picking the right tree is quite a big decision...and they look a lot smaller on the farm than they do in your living room. We love our tree and had a great time finding it. I do believe this is the start of a new tradition.

We took a hayride out to the trees

The girls had so much fun running around. What a great playground!

What a man! A saw and flowery diaper bag.

The ONE!

The Drakes found their tree.

Headed back to get some cookies and cider. Such a fun day!

Back at home, We got the tree all set up.

Ava and Lucy supervising.

Maybe not the most perfect tree, but we love it! My favorite tree ever!
