Telluride

The weekend of September 9th Brent had a race in Telluride. This was his second year to do it. The race starts in Ouray and he runs over a mountain pass to Telluride. It is a tough race and Brent did well. After the race we spent the next two days in Telluride. It was beautiful and relaxing!

Here are some pictures of the drive. It is so beautiful and fun to see all the different mountain terrains across the state.
Ava was such a good traveler. The trip is 6 hours and she was hardly fussy at all.

Here is Brent at the start of the race. It was a cold morning!

Ava and I then drove over to Telluride to see the finish line.

The Finish!! So proud of him!

The condo that we stayed in had a broken heater so it was pretty chilly. Here is our sweet girl all bundled up inside.

On Sunday we took a ride up the gondola. Amazing views!
Ava loved looking out the windows.
Beautiful!

The last morning we were there we took a walk into town to get coffee. The clouds were hanging low in the mountains and it was so pretty!

11 Months!

Holy Moly...11 months. How did this happen?? My baby is growing up so fast. It was a busy and fun month. We had a visit from Aunt Keri and family, went to Dallas, and took a road trip to Telluride. This month Ava started standing by herself. She can go from sitting to standing without holding on to anything. She will walk all day as long as she is holding on to at least on of your hands. So far she just has those two bottom teeth but the top four are pushing through and will make an appearance any day. Ava is still sleeping and eating great.  My favorite thing this past month is that she has become quite the snuggler. Before she would snuggle right before sleeping, but now she gives sweet hugs and will just sit in our laps all mellow. Love it!
First trip to the swimming pool. She LOVED it!
She still loves her books. She sits in the little corner and flips through her books...maybe chews on them a little too.
Playing with dad, one of her favorite pastimes. She says "dada" all the time and I think she is actually associating Brent with the word. It is very cute. One of these days she will figure out "mama" too.
11 months! All bundled up in Telluride.

Trip to Dallas

At the end of August we took a last minute trip to Dallas. Ava and I went a few days before Brent and had a great relaxing time. Brent joined us for the last few days. It was fun for all three us to be together with our families. It had been a long time since Brent has been able to join us on one of these trips. I didn't take a lot of pictures but here are a few.

One of days we went to this bounce house gym. The kiddos had the best time, even Ava loved bouncing around.
Fun with Grammy.
She had the best time climbing around in the bounce houses.
Ava and Aunt Jill
Josh keeping busy.

Brent's parents recently moved. Their new house has a pool and we all had a blast playing in it.
This was Ava's first time in the pool and she loved it. She would put her face down in the water and kick around.
Pool fun with Daddy.
Happy baby.
Nothing beats a post-nap snuggle with consin Kaleb.

Boswell Trip!

About two weeks ago Brent's sister, Keri, and her two boys, Kaleb and Brayden, came in town to visit while her husband Keith was up at a wedding in the mountains. We had a busy and fun few days with them. We went to the park, the zoo, the Denver Children's Museum, on a train to the top of Pikes Peak and hiking. Ava had a blast playing with her big cousins and they took good care of her. We did a lot of fun stuff but still have plenty of things to do next year when they come back (right Kaleb?)!!
Cousins at the zoo.
Ava Claire...she was having a lot of fun playing in her stroller.
Looking at fish.
At the train to Pikes Peak. We were just starting and everyone was so excited!

Ava loved looking out the window of the train and she let it be known.
Top of Pikes Peak.
The boys were all tuckered out after the ride and playing at the top.
So was Ava.....
...but my little busy body would not sleep. Too busy looking out the window.
Beautiful view!!!
The Boswells at Matthew Winters trail. There is a huge rock that the boys had fun playing on and around.
Miss Fearless also had a good time climbing. Future rock climber???
Playing with Uncle Brent in the creek. A trip highlight!
